Long Time No Blog...Again

So I know a lot of you might have thought Nathan and I have left the blogosphere for good but alas we've been here all along and stalking your blogs. Here are some things that have happened lately.

  1. I picked up a second job at a store called Storables, which specializes in home organization. It's not very glamorous, but the benefits of a huge discount and getting to work with other grownups  (as opposed to babies) makes it all worthwhile.
  2. My birthday was last week and it was fabulous. Nathan made me my favorite cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory, White Chocolate Raspberry, and he totally kicked Cheesecake Factory's trash. The man's a genius in the kitchen.
  3. We put an offer down on a house woot woot! Its the perfect little place and has lots of charm and is located in the ward we currently illegally attend. Hopefully the bank just wants to get rid of the thing and won't give us the runaround.
  4. We're in charge of dessert at the Parrish Christmas dinner, so Matt and Christie let us know if you have any requests!

Movin' On Up!

If you've watched the news lately, you know that the housing market i down. This makes great news for poor working students who live in crappy apartments like me and Nathan who want to take advantage of the poor economy. Thats right, we are getting out of our apartment and into a house. Nate's parent's house. At least until we can find our dream-first home. We've made offers on houses, but by the time we made our offers, other offers were already in play.

We haven't had much input from anyone but Porter and London, so help us out and let us know which one we should get!

A)
Isn't this one a beauty? This was one of Nathan's favorite. Until we went inside. This house looked like a meth lab. The previous occupants obviously had to get out of this house fast, because they left their massive lime green bra behind. Gross.

B)
I was looking forward to seeing this house, because the pictures of the kitchen looked awesome. When we went to see it, the doors were unlocked, the A.C. was on and there was a half-full bottle of wine on the counter top, so needless to say we didn't see much of the house.

C)
This house is my favorite. Its an older house, so its got some winding rooms, and would be great for hide and seek! It also has a cloak room, and if you've ever seen Lady in White, you know why this is terrifying/awesome. If you look closely over the door, you can see a little cross, beneath which the previous owner had painted blood dripping down from it. Pretty!

So let us know what you think!

P.S. This post is dedicated to Molly!

Hutton Halvert Dollander

Some of you might have heard me talk about my job, which I love. Here are some facts about the little nugget of joy I watch all day:
  1. Name: Hutton Halvert "Hal" Dollander
  2. Age & weight: 8 months, a whopping 25 pounds!
  3. Favorite Food: Toast, my cheek, bananas
  4. Favorite Toy: A bottle full of pennies and Nathan

I've been nannying for a while now, but this job is by far my favorite! Me and Nathan are able to carpool to work, and go to lunch at least once a week with little Hal. When I work on the weekends and evenings, Nathan comes along and hangs out with us. He is always super cheerful and rarely ever cries. He's a pretty nice boy.

Do You Remember Me?

While I am normally hugely anti-reminiscent, I'm following the new blogging trend and asking you all to do just that.

Leave a memory you have of either me, Darcy, or Nathan. I know we've all had some freaking good times, so you'll have plenty to write about.

When you're all done, make the same post so we can look back at all the good times we've had with you!

BABY DRAMA

I feel that there is an issue I need to address, and it seems my blog is the best way to reach people, we are not expecting a baby. But when we do, you can rest assured that you will not be notified via text message, blog, and especially blog comment. Thanks to everyone for their congratulations though!

If you've haven't been to our house in a while....
We redecorated!

(Or at least rearranged the furniture.)
Stay tuned, exciting things happen to us all the time.

DONKEY KONG ANYONE?

Last week Nathan and I watched the coolest documentary. "King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters" goes inside the world of competitive classic arcade gaming, while telling the story of two rivals, Steve Wiebe the underdog family man and Billy Mitchell the reigning champ of the arcade world. This documentary is filled with love, hate, drama, tragedy and alot of comedy. The things those gamers say are hilarious! Here's what one guy said about why he plays video games "I wanted the fame. I wanted the glory. I wanted all the pretty girls to come up and say 'Hi, I see you're really good at Centipede.'" This one is definitely worth watching.

On Saturday I finally won my battle with the 98 Jetta. That's right, its gone. In its place, Nathan has placed a shiny new Scion XB. I never knew air conditioning and power steering could be so wonderful!

Nathan has been so sweet and driving the Jetta, without A.C or power steering, for over an hour a day in gridlock traffic.
That's why I thought he deserved this:

Ok so we gave in to the blog phenomenon. I figured if all our married siblings have blogs, then we better do it too, for the good of our family. For those of you who already know Nathan and Darcy Parrish, you are very blessed. For those of you who don't know us, then you are about to have your mind blown.
